About me

Hello, I’m Sophie

Thank you for visiting The Quiet Within Counselling.

I know that taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting. My aim is to provide a calm, welcoming, and confidential space where you feel safe to talk openly, without fear of judgement.

I am a qualified Level 4 Therapeutic Counsellor working from a person-centred approach. At the heart of my work is the belief that every person has the capacity for growth, healing, and positive change when they are met with empathy, acceptance, and genuine understanding.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, bereavement, and other life challenges. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, struggling with low mood, or trying to make sense of a significant loss, I offer a compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

I won't tell you what to do or offer quick fixes. Instead, I'll walk alongside you, listening with care and helping you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change, and I strive to create an environment where you feel heard, respected, and valued.

Whatever has brought you here, you are welcome exactly as you are.

I look forward to supporting you as you find your way back to yourself.

My Story

My journey into counselling began after a family bereavement. I was left wondering “Could I have done more?” Shortly after this I enrolled onto my first counselling course. My aim is to help clients with the skills and knowledge I have gained over the last 4 years and help make a difference to your life.
