Cancellation Policy

At The Quiet Within Counselling, I understand that sometimes plans change and appointments may need to be cancelled or rearranged.

Cancelling or rearranging an appointment

If you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice wherever possible.

You can contact me by email or telephone to let me know.

Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice

Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or appointments that are missed without notice, will normally be charged at the full session fee.

This is because your appointment time is reserved specifically for you and cannot usually be offered to another client at short notice.

Emergencies and exceptional circumstances

I understand that unexpected circumstances and genuine emergencies can happen. Where there are exceptional circumstances, I will consider these on an individual basis and may waive the cancellation fee at my discretion.

If I need to cancel

If I need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, I will give you as much notice as possible and offer an alternative appointment where appropriate.

Late arrival

If you arrive late for your appointment, the session will normally still finish at the agreed time. This is to ensure that sessions remain within the scheduled appointment time.

If you are going to be late, please let me know as soon as possible.

Payment

Payment is required by bank transfer before each counselling session. Where a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours' notice, or an appointment is missed without notice, the full session fee remains payable before the cancelled session was due to take place.
